Worcester St Johns are celebrating a number of recent successes.
Four members took part in the Midlands Time Trial Championships held near Hinckley, Leicestershire on a ten mile course featuring tough cross winds and a rough road surface. Callum Hibbert rode fantastically to secure the Junior Championship with a time of 24.29. Other WSJCC riders included Warren Little 23.51, Marcus Hibbert 24.31 and Nic Bradburn 24.37. Winner on the day was Matt Clinton with 19.53.
Martin Staines achieved a seasons best time of 22.07 to finish in 10th place in the Saracens Road Club 10 mile time trial.
The Worcester St Johns Trophy Road Race was held in Severn Stoke at the weekend. Featuring over eighty Elite, Cat 1, Cat 2 and Cat 3 riders over a 125km
course the race attracted a high quality field from around the UK. Worcester St Johns was represented by Rob Nicholls. Other riders from Worcestershire included Anthony Earwicker (GBC), Harry Thomas (WCC) and Paul Dring (Echelon).
Thirteen riders managed an escape from the bunch and maintained a ninety second gap to the chasing pack. The main peloton was a further minute and a half behind. Despite a clash of bikes fifty yards from the finish, Zac May from NFTO managed to hold on for the victory.
The club would like to thank Clinton Haywood and his team for their tireless work in organising the race.
